Vintage Joshim Kakegamic Triple K Co-op Anishinaabe Woodland Cree Silkscreen Print
Joshim Kakegamic was one of the original Woodland artists in the late 60’s under the guidance of his Ojibwa Brother-in-law Norval Morrisseau among others. He and his three brothers along with their father started the Triple K Cooperative in 1973.
At this early stage they only produced unlimited reproductions, of which this is one. Later they moved on to producing only original limited edition prints. They were the first Indigenous owned printing company and their co-op produced work not for just Morrisseau, but also the likes of Goyce Kakegamic, Barry Peters, Paddy Peters and Saul Williams.
If you happen to have one of their limited edition prints, it’s possible it was made by Triple K!
